
SCHOOL CONCERTS
The concert consists of music played by Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, verbal commentary by conductor Misha Rachlevsky (excellent English, Russian accent), and significant interface between Mr. Rachlevsky and the young audience, as a group, as well as individually. On occasion students are invited on stage to experience the music and instruments.
This information is requested in advance:
Age of students.
Approximate number in audience.
Classical music exposure.
Name and telephone number of school contact.
The program is determined by the Music Director, tailored to the event utilizing the above information and typically would include selections and short works from different periods of music, from Mozart and Rossini to the contemporary, including such American classics as Joplin and Gershwin.
The length of program offered is 45 to 60 minutes, or as desired by school.
Via question-and-answer or other "competition", students may win tickets to the orchestra's full concert for themselves and their parents (ticket availability coordinated in advance between orchestra and presenter).
The school concert would take place at the venue where the regular concert is held, the school, or another location in the general vicinity. (The orchestra tours via chartered coach and has means of transportation.)
