Olga Kachanova, violin
The youngest and the newest member of the orchestra, Olga Kachanova, moved
to Moscow after winning an audition. She was born in Moldova (formerly,
one
of the Soviet Republics, but now an independent state) and studied in
Saint
Petersburg.
Her childhood inspirations were to be a ballerina.
If Olga's taste and preferences, which she selected to share with the world, are indeed as indicated in her Q & A sheet, she is an epitome of properness and political correctness. Her favorite composers are Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich, she singled out David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan as her choice for the violinists that are no longer with us, and Gidon Kremer and Gil Shaham from our contemporaries. Besides classical music, she listens to rock and jazz, her hobbies are singing and drawing. All of that keeps her busy, and so far she did not ever think of what she would like to do in her next life, should such an opportunity be granted.
