This season, musicians of Chamber Orchestra KREMLIN perform on instruments loaned by some of the best contemporary violinmakers of Cremona, Italy

Violin by Alessandro Commendulli, 2005

Alexey Khutoryansky

Alexey Khutoriansky began playing violin at 5, concurrently with developing of a strong desire to become a spy. Violin won over, but the calling card of a good spy -- understanding of human nature and a broad knowledge of various scientific subjects -- remain high on Alexey's list of interest. Befitting to this profile, he doubts his chance "to come back us...", and lists jazz and minimalism as his favorite non-classical music genres pointing "if minimalism could be separated from the classical".

His favorite composers are Haydn, Beethoven and Stravinsky, but the range of performers both living and not is far more eclectic -- classical-country violinist-fiddler and composer Mark O'Conner next to one of the guru's of authentic movement, John Elliott Gardener and a searching German violinist Thomas Zehetmeir as well as Glenn Gould, Billy Holliday and Frank Sinatra.
